Die Vertiefungen füllen sich mit Druckfarbe. Bevor der Bedruckstoff mit dem Zylinder in Kontakt kommt und die Druckfarbe aus den Vertiefungen abgegeben wird, wird die überschüssige Druckfarbe von den nichtdruckenden Bereichen abgestrichen.
