Das Fallgewicht wird nach hinten gezogen, bis die Höhe seines Schwerpunkts über dem Aufschlagpunkt nachstehender Formel entspricht:

Nur durch Bolzen gesicherte Türverschlüsse und Falltüren oder Türen, die durch ein Fallgewicht geschlossen werden, sind nicht zugelassen.

Plate doors secured only by bolts and doors required to be closed by dropping or by the action of a dropping weight are not permitted.

Angewandte Techniken umfassen: Zug-, Charpy-, Härte und Biegeversuche, chemische Analyse, CTOD-, Makro-und Mikro-Untersuchung, Fallgewicht-Reißtests und Korrosionsprüfung.

Techniques applied include: tensile, charpy, hardness and bend tests, chemical analysis, CTOD, macro & micro investigation, drop weight tear tests and corrosion testing.

Wenn es während der sechs Versuche bei 40 J zu einer Explosion kommt, sind weitere sechs Einzelversuche mit einem Fallgewicht von 5 kg und einer Fallhöhe von 0,15 m (7,5 J) auszuführen.

If an explosion is obtained during the six tests at 40 J, a further series of six tests, dropping a 5 kg mass from 0,15 m (7,5 J), must be performed.
