Sie ist klassische Flötistin und hat Jazz, Literatur, Wandern, Schwimmen und Skilanglauf als Hobbys.

She is a classical flautist who also enjoys jazz, literature, hiking, swimming, and cross-country skiing.

1996 engagierte sie die Magdeburgische Philharmonie als Solo-Flötistin, im folgenden Jahr wechselte sie zu den Berliner Philharmonikern. Die Musikerin ist außerdem solistisch und kammermusikalisch tätig.

In 1996 the Magdeburg Philharmonic engaged her as principal flute; the following year she moved to the Berliner Philharmoniker. Jelka Weber is also active as a soloist and a member of the Ensemble Berlin and the Orsolino Quintet.
