Dies hat den Vorteil, daß das Spiegelreinigungselement nur dann betätigt wird, wenn auch eine Reinigung des Rückspiegels möglich ist, wenn also der Rückspiegel im Wirkungsbereich des Spiegel­ reinigungselements ist.

This has the advantage that the mirror-cleaning element is operated only when cleaning of the sideview mirror is possible, i.e. when the sideview mirror is in the effective region of the mirror-cleaning element.
