Und als er sie ereilte, redete er mit ihnen solche Worte.

And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words.

Er wußte aber nicht, was er redete; denn sie waren bestürzt.

For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

»Um Gottes willen, reden Sie!« drängte er von neuem, indem er ihre Hand ergriff.

'For heaven's sake!' he repeated, taking her hand.

ich habe heute noch ein Treffen mit dem Käufer. Ich muss jetzt viel reden, dass er sie kauft. Er hat schon eine andere Wohnung angeschaut.

I still have a meeting with the buyer. Now I have to talk a lot, he buys it. He has already looked at another apartment.

Und da er herausging, konnte er nicht mit ihnen reden; und sie merkten, daß er ein Gesicht gesehen hatte im Tempel. Und er winkte ihnen und blieb stumm.

And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

Und siehe zu, er redet frei, und sie sagen nichts. Erkennen unsere Obersten nun gewiß, daß er gewiß Christus sei?

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

Da sie aber davon redeten, trat er selbst, Jesus, mitten unter sie und sprach: Friede sei mit euch!

And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Jesus aber sagte von seinem Tode; sie meinten aber, er redete vom leiblichen Schlaf.

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
