Schließlich befürworte ich die in dem heute angenommenen Text von Herrn Langen dargelegten Leitlinien, nicht zuletzt, da Finanzderivate nicht nur das Privileg von Experten in diesem Sektor sind, sondern Instrumente für den Massenmarkt.

Lastly, I support the guidelines set out by Mr Langen in the text adopted today, not least because financial derivatives are not just the prerogative of professionals in the sector, but are instruments for mass-market use.

Daher möchte ich ihm Anerkennung zollen, nicht zuletzt für seine Bemühungen, auch Menschen zu helfen, deren Anliegen nicht in seine Zuständigkeit fallen.

I should therefore like to pay tribute to him, not least for his attempts to help people in cases that fall outside his jurisdiction.

Andererseits muss auch berücksichtigt werden, dass der Prozess der Umstellung auf Rebstöcke, nicht zuletzt in Madeira, noch deutlich hinter dem Zeitplan liegt und sogar gefährdet sein kann, wenn die Anreize nicht verstärkt werden.

On the other hand, it is important to take into account that the process of reconverting vines is significantly behind schedule, not least in the case of Madeira, and could even be compromised if the incentives are not strengthened.

Nicht zuletzt brauchen wir auch eine Analyse und eine Debatte über die Ergebnisse der Schulsysteme in Europa, denn leider haben nicht alle europäischen Staaten so hervorragend abgeschlossen, wie es eigentlich sein müsste.

Last but not least, we also need an analysis and a debate of the results of the school system in Europe because, unfortunately, not every country in Europe has done as well as it should.

Nicht zuletzt aber brauchen wir sie für die derzeitige EU und ihre Bürger, wir brauchen sie heute oder spätestens morgen, und zwar nicht nur wegen einer möglichen künftigen Erweiterung.

Last, but not least, we need it for the current EU and its citizens today or, by the latest, tomorrow - not just because of potential future enlargement.
