1868, the first Abyssinian became, a Cat by the name of Zula from Abyssinia (the present-day Ethiopia) after Grossbritanien brought.

Rüppell was just beginning to work on the birds of Abyssinia and he encouraged Wolf to work for him either by living in Frankfurt or Darmstadt where he suggested Wolf could work for Johann Jakob Kaup.

Auf Vermittlung des Forschungsreisenden Eduard Rüppell ging er 1840 zu Johann Jakob Kaup an das Großherzogliche Naturalienkabinett in Darmstadt.
