This area is also the home of many water birds; among these are the osprey and the white-tailed eagle.

Außerdem sind neben vielen Wasservogelarten auch Fisch- oder Seeadler hier anzutreffen.

n the past the "Klatov branch" was often visited by many unique water birds. In the year 1993 the region was proclaimed as a preserved reservation by the annoucement of the Slovak Ministry of environment.

Im Jahre 1993 wurde das Gebiet vom Umweltministerium der Slowakischen Republik zum Naturschutzgebiet erklärt.
