With all due respect for everything this contains, which I am sure Mr Dimitrakopoulos is already perfectly familiar with, I would like to try to give him a rather more off-the-cuff reply.

Bei allem Respekt vor den Wahrheiten, die darin stehen und die auch Herrn Dimitrakopoulos nicht unbekannt sein dürften, möchte ich jedoch versuchen, eine etwas spontanere Antwort zu formulieren.

They would be unlikely to get someone else who had simply been handed a dossier, who was unacquainted with its contents and would just give a completely unsatisfactory off-the-cuff answer.

Sie würden wohl kaum an jemanden anderen geraten, dem einfach ein Dossier ausgehändigt worden war, mit dessen Inhalt er nicht vertraut ist, und der einfach eine vollkommen unbefriedigende Antwort aus dem Stegreif abgeben würde.
